Instead of a love poem
You bit my lips until my mouth bled kisses
And with the heavy hammer of your fists
Beat on the drum of my stretched body
And my cleft valley felt your piston drive
The energy of fluid as my lungs
Gasped for fresh air; the smoky, beery scent
That filled my face was anything but perfume,
And the only stars I saw you gave to me
As with your blows you taught me your hard lesson,
Weakness is never to be desired,
Only a fatal flaw to be destroyed,
Consumed in the broiler of your endless anger,
The only explanations ever offered.
